Action Research Plan(Process Overview Sample)
Action Research Plan
1. SETTING THE FOUNDATION –
Through collaboration or during meetings with principal and other key stakeholders, like the site based decision making committee, will determine if job skill training courses would have an impact on student interest; therefore, decreasing dropout rates.
.
2. ANALYZING DATA –
Through student questionnaires, data will be analyzed on the basis of interest in vocational or job skill training courses. Questions about student decisions on deciding to dropout will also be answered (Average grade of decision and reasons for action).
.
3. DEVELOPING DEEPER UNDERSTANDING –
Plan to meet with key stakeholders to discuss possible and plausible solutions for student training in vocational and job skill training courses.
4. ENGAGE IN SELF-REFLECTION –
• Do I possess the skills and resources needed to conduct a successful action research project that includes incorporating vocational education or job skill training course within the curriculum of the school?
• If I do not have the skills to make program successful, can I develop those skills to make it work?
• If I do not have the resources to take on the task of creating the curriculum, can I procure them?
.
5. EXPLORING PROGRAMMATIC PATTERNS –
I will talk with at length my site supervisor and other people whose opinion I respect to determine the pros and cons of the vocational education or job skill training curriculum.
6. DETERMINING DIRECTION –
A. I am clear with the direction I need to take for this action research project of vocational ed. or job skill training courses.
B. I have adequately addressed the concerns and know what resources to use for the research.
C. I know which people will need to be involved in the project and where I can gain help if needed for this project.
D. The time period that I have set aside for the research will be adequate.
E. I have a plan to monitor and follow the program.
F. I have a reasonable plan for determining the level of success – and ways to evaluate if the plan is effective.
G. There will also be a plan put in place to make changes if necessary for the benefit of the curriculum .
7. TAKING ACTION FOR SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT
I will have a committee that will help with the action plan and follow up with a summary of results to see what is in the best interest of all stakeholders.
8. SUSTAIN IMPROVEMENT
In finding what works best for the curriculum, I will share needed information with others to maintain improvement throughout the campus.
